Tectonic

TECTONIC is an LGBTQ+ disaster thriller set in northern Arizona. On the morning Carter White is supposed to get married, an earthquake strands him on Mount Elden with his fiancé—and Christian Reyes, the man who broke his heart years ago. When Sunset Crater erupts, the three men are trapped above Flagstaff with a group of injured hikers and no way down. As ash, wildfire, collapsing cliffs, and volcanic debris cut off every escape, Carter must fight to reach his family while confronting the love he never truly left behind.

It combines high-stakes survival, a complicated love triangle, and an emotionally grounded second-chance romance.

I really enjoyed Tectonic Fault Line. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect going into it, but once I got into the story, I found myself wanting to keep reading just to see what would happen next.

I really liked the tension throughout the book. There were definitely moments where I thought I knew where things were going, only for the story to take a different turn. That’s probably what I enjoyed most about it.

The story kept me interested, the characters were easy to get invested in, and I liked how everything slowly came together. It’s the kind of book where you can tell yourself you’ll read “just one more chapter” and then realize you’ve read way more than you planned 😂

Definitely worth picking up if you enjoy suspenseful stories with plenty of twists and tension

Wow!! This is SUCH a good book! I thought I would have trouble understanding some of the plot because I didn't read the first one but the author did such a good job putting the pieces together from the first book. I really loved the relationships between Carter, Christian, Alton and the young boy Eli. This book also kept me on the edge of my seat with how they were going to escape catastrophe after catastrophe. The characters pulled together really well. The author did such a great job as well as putting me in the scenerio from the very first page. Suspenseful and romantic. Loved it!here.

I enjoyed the combination of disaster survival and complicated relationships in this story. The earthquake and volcanic eruption create an intense setting, while Carter’s forced proximity to Christian brings unresolved emotions to the surface. I also found the evolving dynamic between Carter, Christian, and Alton especially intriguing. The mix of danger, second chances, and emotional tension makes this sound like a fast-paced and unconventional survival romance.

THIS ONE SURPRISES ME IN THE BEST WAY

I went into Tectonic expecting a story about volcanoes and natural disasters, but it ended up being just as much about love, grief, family, and the things people hold onto when their entire world changes.

Carter and Christian have a history that goes way back, and their relationship is one of the parts of the story that really pulled me in. There is a lot of tenderness between them, but there is also uncertainty about the future, especially with graduation, Boston, and all the changes that come with growing up and figuring out what you actually want.

And then the mountain changes everything.

Once the disaster begins, the pace shifts and the book becomes a genuine survival story. The descriptions of the ash, falling debris, unstable ground, and the chaos around them made me feel like I was right there with them. I found myself thinking, “Okay, surely they get a break now,” and then something else would happen.

What I really liked, though, was that the disaster never completely took over the emotional side of the story. The characters still had to deal with relationships, loss, guilt, family, and some very difficult decisions while simply trying to survive.

There are some heartbreaking moments in this book, and I definitely wasn’t expecting to get as emotionally invested in these characters as I did. The family relationships and the way people show up for each other after everything falls apart were some of my favorite parts.

If you like LGBTQ+ romance mixed with a high-stakes survival story, Tectonic is definitely worth picking up. Just be prepared to get attached to these characters because once the mountain starts moving, you are going to be worried about every single one of them.

And that ending… let’s just say I’m glad there is another book in the series. 👀

Tectonic: Fault Line completely raises the stakes

from the first book, plunging the characters into a terrifyingly realistic disaster scenario. The blend of a high-stakes survival thriller with a deeply emotional family dynamic makes for a gripping read from start to finish. The tension of the earthquake and the displacement wave is palpable, keeping the pacing relentless as Carter, Christian, and Alton fight to survive and protect their young son.

The established M/M/M triad is handled beautifully. The narrative grounds the intense, apocalyptic action in their profound love and commitment to their found family. The romance is passionate and the intimate scenes are definitely on the steamier side, but they are woven in naturally and never overshadow the urgent, heart-pounding survival plot is a fantastic, action-packed continuation of the series that perfectly balances adrenaline with emotional depth.”
